Since the late 1960s, Nexans has been developing an entire range of XLPE insulated cables for high voltage-transmission.

 132kV HV Cables are  fully in compliance with IEC 60840 

Cable Construction  :

 Conductor :

Plain annealed Copper Conductor (Water tight) to meet the requirements of IEC 60840

Types of Conductor construction :

   - Circular Compacted for Sizes 240 Sq.mm - 800 Sq.mm

   - Segmental Compacted for 1000 Sq.mm and above .

Water Blocking (Water tight ) Conductor shall be achived by water blocking tapes applied over each layer of conductor strands to avoid water ingress inside the conductor . Suitable bnder tapes shall be provided over the conductor to prevent the extruded semiconducting layer falling between the intersitices of the conductor strands.

 

Conductor Screen :

Extruded Black Semiconducting Thermosetting material (Firmly bonded)

 

Insulation :

Extruded Cross linked Polyethylene

 

Insulation Screen :

Extruded Black Semiconducting Thermosetting material (Firmly Bonded )

 

Mettallic Screen :

Copper wires with Open Helix Copper tape with Water swellable tapes over and below screen

 

Mettallic Sheath (for Radial Water Blocking) :

Lead alloy

 

Outersheath :

HDPE (High Density Polyethylene )

With Graphite coating
