They are used as superior medium in the Hi-Fi technique (amplifier, recorder, CD player, tape-desk, etc.) and in professional studio equipment. The types of insulation materials used are Polyethylene, cellular-polyethylene and special PVC compounds. The conductor and shield materials used are plain bare copper, tinned copper, silver plated copper and in rare instances plain silver.
